Word 2007This series shows you how to use Word 2007 to create word processing documents. It shows you how to use the Ribbon-based Word 2007 interface, how to create and format documents, and how to add lists, tables, and images to your documents.

This series is for anyone new to Microsoft Word, or for individuals looking for a Word refresher. This online course contains 6 lessons and should take approximately 14 hours to complete.

Lesson 1: Getting Started (2.0) hours

Getting Started teaches you how to identify features of the new Word 2007 user interface, identify and use the five different views offered by Word 2007, create a new document, create a document based on a template, save a Word document, and print a Word document. This course provides information about the new user interface of Word 2007. You will find out how to change the document view, how to create a new document, and how to print and save documents. Topics include The Interface, View Options, Starting a New Document, Saving a Document, and Printing a Document.

Lesson 2: Typing and Editing Text (3.0) hours

Typing and Editing Text teaches you how to use the Undo, Redo, and Repeat features, use Paste Options to control how copied text is pasted, use the Office Clipboard to store and paste text, find and replace a text string using the Find and Replace dialog box, create and insert a building block in a document, and correct errors using the Proofing Errors feature. This course provides information on how to use features and functions of Microsoft Word 2007, including Undo, Redo, and Repeat to correct mistakes; Paste Options to control how copied text is pasted; Office Clipboard to store and paste text; and the Find and Replace dialog box to find and replace text strings. It also provides information on how to create and insert building blocks in a document, how to correct errors using Proofing Errors, and how to automatically correct errors using AutoCorrect Options. Topics include Editing Basics, Moving Around in a Document, Selecting Text, Using Cut, Copy, and Paste, Finding and Replacing Text, Building Blocks, Spelling and Grammar Check, and Using AutoCorrect.

Lesson 3: Formatting Text (2.0) hours

Formatting Text teaches you how to demonstrate the various methods to change selected text's font, size, and color, explain how to apply certain font styles, such as bold, italics, and underlining, to your text, implement a variety of Font Effects and Change Case features in your document, utilize the highlighting tool to further format your document, operate the tools used to clear and copy formatting, differentiate between the two versions of AutoFormat, and demonstrate the steps necessary to customize both versions of AutoFormat. This course provides an overview of the tools used to format text in Microsoft Word 2007. Topics include Course introduction, Font, size, and color, Bold, italics, and underlining, Font effects, Clearing and copying formatting, and Autoformat.

Lesson 4: Formatting Paragraphs and Lists (3.0) hours

Formatting Paragraphs and Lists teaches you how to use paragraph markers and line breaks, set line spacing and paragraph indents, set tab stops, create bulleted and numbered lists, apply paragraph borders and shading, and set paragraph alignment and breaking characteristics. This course introduces basic Word 2007 features for formatting paragraphs and lists. Lesson 5: Building Tables (2.0) hours

Building Tables teaches you how to insert a table into a document, modify a table's settings, select cells, columns, and rows in a table, merge and split cells, specify the size of a table or its rows, columns, and cells, and apply fills, patterns, and borders to enhance the readability of your tables. This course provides an overview of the tools used to create and modify tables in Microsoft Word 2007. Topics include Creating a table, Editing a table, Sizing a table, and Formatting a table.

Lesson 6: Working with Images (2.0) hours

Working with Images teaches you how to insert pictures into a Word document, position and resize an image, insert clip art, use the Microsoft Clip Organizer, and create WordArt. This course provides an introduction to working with images in Word 2007. Topics include Inserting Pictures, Setting Position and Text Wrap, Resizing and Cropping, Inserting Clip Art, Using the Clip Organizer, and Creating WordArt.
