Lesson 1: Choosing a Resume Format (3.0) hours

Choosing a Resume Format teaches you how to list the functions of a resume, explain the fundamental rules of writing a resume, and describe and differentiate between chronological, functional, achievement, hybrid chronological, and hybrid functional resumes. This course introduces resume writing and the most common resume formats. Topics include The Many Uses of Resumes, Resume Commandments and Formats, Chronological and Functional Formats, and Achievement and Hybrid Formats.

Lesson 2: Starting Out with a Bang (2.0) hours

Starting Out with a Bang teaches you how to build a resume heading that gives all the necessary contact information, write accurate and relevant job objectives, design a work history listing that shows off the user's experience, and create a summary of qualifications that makes the resume stand out from the crowd. This course illustrates how to build the heading, job objectives, summary of qualifications, and work history sections of a resume. Topics include Designing the Heading, Writing Meaningful Objectives, Developing a Summary of Qualifications, and Making the Most of Work History.

Lesson 3: Packing a Powerful Resume (3.0) hours

Packing a Powerful Resume teaches you how to list intriguing and useful skills and skill headings, choose the most powerful achievements for an achievements list, build an education section of the most important and pertinent information, and fill in any additional sections or information that will help demonstrate the user’s qualifications. This course illustrates how to build the skill headings, achievements, education, and interests sections of a resume. Topics include Choosing Marketable Skill Headings, Writing an Impressive Achievements List, Building an Education Section, and Including Other Relevant Information.

Lesson 4: Circulating Your Resume (3.0) hours

Circulating Your Resume teaches you how to print and distribute a resume, network among friends and acquaintances with networking cards, create and distribute online resumes, and create a resume that will be easily scanned by employers' resume scanning products. This course illustrates how to use networking and other methods of distributing a resume, including how to use online resumes and prepare a resume for computer scanning. Topics include Formatting and Distributing, Creating and Using Networking Cards, Preparing for Computer Scanning, and Distributing Your Resume Online.
