Lesson 3: Administration (2.0) hours

Administration teaches you how to identify administration methods for IIS 6, describe IIS Manager functionality, perform general administration tasks on IIS machines, and install Windows Server 2003 administrative tools on a workstation. This course provides an overview of the tools used to administer IIS 6 and other aspects of Windows Server 2003. Lesson 4: Remote Administration (3.0) hours

Lesson 11: Working with the Metabase (3.0) hours

Working with the Metabase teaches you how to recognize what the metabase is and what it does, identify and adjust keys within the metabase, back up and restore copies of the metabase, edit a metabase file, and recover from corrupt metabase configurations. IIS 6 holds configuration information in a set of XML files collectively called the metabase. The metabase retains all of your global IIS settings, and the settings for each individual Web site running on IIS. You can adjust IIS settings using the IIS Manager or by editing the metabase directly. Publishing teaches you how to differentiate between WebDAV and FTP for publishing and managing content on Web servers, enable WebDAV and a client to support it, identify the main issues related to configuring WebDAV, install FrontPage Server Extensions of IIS, enable FrontPage Server Extensions so Web sites on your server can support FrontPage clients, and configure various aspects of how FPSE works on your site.
