Lesson 1: Fundamental Sentence Structures (3.0) hours

Fundamental Sentence Structures teaches you how to identify subjects, verbs, adverbs, pronouns, and prepositional and infinitive phrases in sentences, use a verb that correctly agrees with the subject of a sentence, select pronouns properly and use them correctly in a sentence, and use irregular verbs and their different forms properly and distinguish transitive and intransitive verbs. This course provides instruction and practice in basic business grammar skills for the area of sentence structures. Topics include Verbs and Subjects, Prepositional Phrases, Subject-Verb Agreement, Pronouns, Irregular Verbs, and Transitive and Intransitive Verbs.

Lesson 2: Punctuation (2.0) hours

Punctuation teaches you how to use apostrophes to indicate contractions and possessive constructions, use quotation marks to set off the words of a speaker or writer and to set off titles of short works and use punctuation with quotation marks, identify how to capitalize sentences, proper nouns, adjectives, and titles correctly, and use numbers and abbreviations properly in written text. This course provides an overview of the use of business grammar skills and how to use it to punctuate sentence structures. Topics include Apostrophes, Quotations, Capital Letters, and Numbers and Abbreviations.

Lesson 3: Complex Sentence Structures (3.0) hours

Complex Sentence Structures teaches you how to recognize types of sentence fragments, and define run-on sentences. This course provides an overview of the use of business grammar skills. Topics include Types of Sentence Fragments, More Sentence Fragments, Run-On Sentences, Correcting Run-Ons, Commas, and Faulty Parallelism.

Lesson 4: Advanced Grammar (2.0) hours

Advanced Grammar teaches you how to use pronouns correctly, identify the difference between adverbs and adjectives, define the grammatical rules that govern the use of special punctuation marks, and identify and correct misplaced and dangling modifiers. This course provides an overview of advanced grammar and how to use pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, special punctuation, and modifiers.
