Data Warehousing - Online Course

This series provides an overview of the use and administration of data warehouses. It covers the components of data warehouses and explains data models and optimization. It also examines the different roles in a data warehouse, and covers how to effectively design, implement, and manage a data warehouse.

This series is for anyone who is interested in learning more about the use and administration of data warehouses. This online course contains 2 lessons and should take approximately 5 hours to complete.

Lesson 1: Concepts (2.0) hours

Concepts teaches you how to explain the function and use of data warehouses, identify the systems data warehouses use to store data, show how the components of data warehouses work together, and compare data models and structures. This course provides an overview of data warehousing concepts, including their use, components, and structures. Topics include Introduction to Data Warehousing, Managing Data with Data Warehousing, Data Warehouse Components, and Data Models and Structures.

Lesson 2: Management (3.0) hours

Management teaches you how to identify warehouse requirements, plan and create a data warehouse, maintain a data warehouse, choose warehouse features based on requirements, provide the proper hardware and software support for a data warehouse, and match business requirements to warehouse features. This course provides an introduction to designing, building, and maintaining a data warehouse. Topics include Identifying Requirements, Designing and Implementing the Warehouse, Matching Warehouses to Requirements, Supporting Warehouse Needs, and Business Management of Data Warehouses.
