This series is for anyone who wants to move beyond the basic concepts of Microsoft Access. This online course contains 3 lessons and should take approximately 9 hours to complete.
Lesson 1: Expressions and Queries (3.0) hours
Expressions and Queries teaches you how to discuss the elements of expressions, use the Immediate window to test return values of VBA functions, describe the use of inner joins, outer joins, self-joins, and theta joins in queries, and create crosstab queries using the Crosstab Query Wizard. This course focuses on the use of VBA functions when creating queries, and examples of queries that use the four basic types of joins you can create in Microsoft Access 2007. Topics include Expressions, operators, literals, constants, Working with functions, Types of functions, Creating expressions, Using inner joins for multitable queries, Using outer, self, and theta joins, and Creating crosstab queries.
Lesson 2: PivotTables, PivotCharts, and Graphs (3.0) hours
PivotTables, PivotCharts, and Graphs teaches you how to describe the main features of PivotTables and PivotCharts, create a query for a PivotTable, create, optimize, and export PivotTables, create and modify PivotCharts, and create and modify Graphs. This course provides an introduction to working with PivotTables and PivotCharts. Topics include Working with PivotTables, Creating PivotTables, Exporting and optimizing PivotTables, Working with PivotCharts, Working with graphs, Modifying graphs, and Using PivotChart forms.
Lesson 3: Macros and Data Imports/Exports (3.0) hours
Macros and Data Imports/Exports teaches you how to view macro events and actions, create embedded macros, import and link data from Excel, import text data, export Access data, and import and export XML data. This course focuses on the use of macros and the ability to import and export data between Microsoft Access 2007 and other programs. Topics include Introducing macros and events, Generating embedded macros, Importing and linking Excel data, Importing text files, Exporting data from Access, Importing XML data, and Exporting tables and queries to XML.
